John has an upscale Downtown Denver loft. The contractor apparently went with a glass company that didn't know or think about what hardware needs to be used on a 34" wide and 90 pound shower door. The shower door slipped out of the hinges not too long after the John moved in because the hardware use was only rated for a 28" wide door. The all glass door ended up resting on the curb, luckily not breaking, and no longer opened. John tried to fix it a few times without success and "just kept putting up with it." He called me to see what could be done. We solved the problem with a new door mounted with C.H.M.I. hardware, which is rated for a wider and heavier door. We had to replace the glass as well as the hinges because the new hinges would not fit the notches for the old hardware. It has been sometime now and the new door works perfectly. |

He deconstructed the frame, that was installed improperly installed, replaced the glass, then reconstructed the frame so that it was installed properly. He did a excellent job on the window replacement and he was sure to cover all areas required by law (making sure that safety glass was installed for the height of the window, making sure that there were rubber pieces inserted between the window and the frame, etc.) I appreciated the fact that he offered information to me. I didn't have think of the right questions to ask. He addressed all of the important issues with me up front. He offered a 10 year warranty." |
